Information behaviour in bidirectional translators: focus on online resources

Effective information behaviour is crucial in all translation competence models but our understanding of how skills develop and translators interact with found online resources still limited. In this article we focus on (needs use) bidirectional who frequently translate into their native (L1) non-native language (L2). The theoretical underpinnings come from studies: (1) needed when cognitive uncertainty arises – it allows the translator to make an informed decision; (2) are driven by economy effort will minimise cost searching for information. empirical evidence comes a study 30 professional translated two texts low diffusion (Polish) major (English).
